Heskan was hatched into an old bloodline of the Dragonborn, with ancestry dating back to before the fall of Arkhosia. His bloodline has always been devoted to Bahumut, and after the fall, Heskan’s ancestors joined with the fellow Dragonborn worshipers of Bahumut to form a clan.
One summer, a cult of Dargonborn devoted to Tiamat was discovered in the city occupied by Heskan’s clan. Many days of fighting ensued when this cult was uncovered, causing much death and destruction, including the death of Heskan’s father at the hands of his Uncle. The uprising was eventually quelled by the followers of Bahumut. Among the Dragonborn uncovered as followers of Tiamat were Heskan’s older brother Balasar. Balasar fled the city with the other worshipers of Tiamat.
Heskan’s family and bloodline were shamed and untrustworthy, and eventually a political movement pushed him and his mother Korrin out of the city as outcasts. They wondered through the Desert of Arrania, lost without cause and hopeless. While wondering they ran out of the meager supplies given to them, and traveled with no food or water for many leagues. Finally, after a day of carrying his mother, Heskan finally succumbed to to exhaustion and hunger, collapsing in the sand. He believed that death had finally come for him.
Fortunately, a group of Human Cleric’s devoted to Bahumut came accross the two Dragonborn while pilgrimaging to the grand temple of Bahumut, Draconis. Nursed back to health by the clerics, and taken to the temple, Heskan re-devoted his life to Bahumut. He believed that his rescue had been a miracle of Bahumut.
Heskan trained at the temple, his heart now fueled by a desire to undo what his brother had done and bring his bloodline to glory. He progressed quickly in the ways of the Paladin, and found himself to be the pupil of a great master, a human Paladin named Khor. After only a few years, he was inducted into the brotherhood, the Knights of Draconis. Since this time, Heskan has traveled far, smiting evil and vanquishing the undead. He seeks to find and destroy his brother Balasar, clearing the taint of Tiamat from his bloodline and bringing his family back to glory.
Heskan died fighting the Wolf King, Lord Luc Underwood.
